About Us
A dream come true
After Alessandro, Giancarlo, Davide, Sergio and Marco, the five friends who in 2005 created ” LA MASERA “, the year 2024 started with a very important novelty:
after 18 years of deep commitment and passionate dedication, the five founding members of “LA MASERA” left the company to the well-known entrepreneur of the Canavese territory, MICHELE BARDUS, who decided to invest in the location where he had already achieved brilliant successes in other areas.
The first objective of MICHELE BARDUS is to build a new Winery with merged areas with tastings and event rooms; for this reason he recently acquired “Cascina MOIA” with three hectares of Nebbiolo vines already planted. Located on a hill in the town of Viverone, overlooking the lake with a breathtaking view. Next to this will be also build a “Bed and Breakfast” immersed in the vineyards.
The second objective is to bring the Masera to a new dimension with a growing position in the local, national and international market.
The Masera, after the introduction of the new management, has now a vineyard area of about 10 hectares, and another 5 ready for the wine’s production, located in the town of Settimo Rottaro, Piverone and Viverone. These are in between the hills of the Morainic Amphitheatre of Ivrea, in the Province of Turin and Biella, in a Northern area of Piedmont called Canavese. It is considered the typical area of the Erbaluce vineyard, which on these hills finds its maximum expression of quality.
The desire is to revive the production of Erbaluce Passito, which was born from the wise hands of the farmers of these lands.
The choice of the name is significant because of one of the values that most characterize us: the strong bond with the territory and its authenticity.
In fact, “masere” is the local name used to indicate the large stone walls that demarcate the fields, just like those that support most of our vineyards in the terraces.
The philosophy of La Masera is to produce high quality wine, authentic and loyal, combining the common sense inherited from the “grandparents” together with the improvements available nowadays by science and technology. All this is done in order to create a product that is born from the soul, son of a unique territory, through the simple but rich interpretation of passion and respect for the territory.
